Kadakampally's legal notice to Selvaraj’s wife

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM district secretary Kadakampally Surendran has sent a legal notice demanding Rs 1 crore as damages on Saturday to three persons,  including Mary Valsala, wife of Neyyatinkara UDF candidate R Selvaraj, Chief Editor and Printer and Publisher of a leading Malayalam daily for “publishing a baseless allegation for defaming him and his party.”
Mary Valsala had alleged that her husband’s life was in danger as the CPM district secretary has entrusted “quotation gangs” to eliminate him. She also said that this was the reason behind Selvaraj leaving CPM and joining the Congress and the daily had published it on May 10.
In his notice through Adv C Vasudevan Nair, Kadakampally demanded Mary Valsala “to withdraw her baseless allegation and tender an apology” and the daily to publish an apology with the same importance for “publishing baseless allegation” within a week or face legal proceedings.
