Abhaya murder case: Pleas for reinvestigation dismissed


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CBI court in Thiruvananthapuram has dismissed the three pleas appealing for reinvestigation into the case related to the death of Sister Abhaya.

The pleas for reinvestigation had been filed by Abhaya Action Council Convenor, Jomon Puthenpurackal, Adv Neyyattinkara P Nagaraj and former DySP (Crime Branch) K D Michael.

The first plea appealed reinvestigation of injuries found on Abhaya’s body and how those who investigated the case thwarted the evidence.

The second plea appealed for reinvestigation of how six persons including V Thyagarajan, K D Michael, former DySP K Samuel and former Kottayam RDO S G K Kishore had made attempts to tamper with evidence.

The third plea had appealed for reinvestigation regarding how former DYSP of CBI Varghese P Thomas, senior superintendent of RDO office Eliyamma and clerk K N Muralidharan had conspired in destroying the material evidence.
