Kirmani Manoj used the same number he used during T P murder conspiracy

KOZHIKODE: Police have found out that Kirmani Manoj, an accused in the T P murder case, used the same mobile number he used while conspiring to murder T P Chandrasekharan.

The number 9847562679 used by him was taken in the name  of Mahi native Ajesh. The four phone numbers used were detected within Kozhikode tower circle.

For the murder, 11 SIM cards were used. The cards used belonged to Ayancheri native Mohammed, Thalassey native Pratyush, and Faisal from New Mahe. The police have questioned all these persons.

However soon after the arrest, the accused informed the police that they had destroyed all their SIM cards. The police also mentioned in their report that the SIM cards had gone missing.

Police came to know about Kirmani’s number only when the news about his calls made from jail came out. He is found to have made calls to CPM local leaders and women from the number.

A report has also come out about the move to scuttle the home minister’s order in June to take action against the jail officials who helped the accused.

A report by Intelligence ADGP Sen Kumar had said that jail officials used to arrange alcohol and mobile phones for the prisoners. Attempts made by the accused to manhandle jail wardens were also mentioned in the report. Sen Kumar had suggested action against the erring officials. He had also submitted a similar report to the government in November.
