AIYF leader's health continues to be serious

KOLLAM: The condition of AIYF’s Mangadu Village Secretary Vinesh (28), a resident of Karikkode Vikas Nagar, continues to be serious. He was allegedly hacked by SDPI activists at around 9 pm at Kallun Thazhatthu on Thursday.

Kikollore police has confirmed that the assailants are SDPI activists and they have intensified the search for them. The situation has remained tense since.       

Vinesh was returning home after taking part in the inaugural function of the Kollam edition of Janayugam daily. According to the police, the gang wearing masks and brandishing dangerous weapons came in the bike and hacked Vinesh. He was later admitted to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
  
For quite sometime now, Karikkode has been witnessing clashes between CPI and SDPI. The police said the recent incident was a continuation of the rivalry.

AIYF State Vice-president Adv. A Sajilal has demanded action against SDPI activists involved in the incident.
