KOZHIKODE: Court will give its verdict on the sensational T P Chandrasekharan murder case on January 22. The long-awaited sentence will be read by Eranjippalam special court judge Narayana Pisharadi as the final argument of the case is over. Earlier, the Kerala High Court had strongly instructed the prosecution to complete the trial of the case by December 31.
At present, there are 36 accused in the case whereas in the initial stage of the trial that number was 76. The court had stayed the trial of 15 accused in a later stage. From the list of accused persons, 20 were acquitted for lack of evidence. The government also did not content that in a higher court. Two accused are sill absconding.
The murder took place in May 4, 2012, when a gang allegedly hurled bomb at RMP leader Chandrasekharan at Vallikkadu near Vadakara and hacked him to death after he fell to the ground.
