THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: During the auspicious occasion of Christmas, Government Chief Whip P C George wants to maintain silence. “I am not game for arguments and discussion for the time being. But I am waiting for controversial businessman Abhilash Murali’s legal notice. Let me get that. After that I will respond. No going back in that,” George said on Tuesday.
He told Kerala Kaumudi he would bring the ‘dubious’ relation between Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrsihnan and Abhilash Muralidharan before the public once he got the legal notice. “No body can make me tell lies or make me do something unfaithful,” he said. His statement follows Kerala Congress (M) chairman K M Mani’s strictures against George's on and off comments on certain political leaders made through the media.
Georoge’s remark linking Abhilash and Thiruvanchoor’s son had created political furore over the past few days. Surprisingly, Mani on Monday came out with statements refuting George’s stand; the reason for this is said be pressure from the Congress party, which had taken exception to George’s comments.
It is also rumoured that Mani’s sudden U-turn is to favour his son Jose K Mani’s prospects in politics.
