Two knocked down by train

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two were fatally knocked down by a train at Punnamoodu in Varkala near the railway gate in a gap of two hours. Mohan (70) of Varkala was found knocked down by a train early Monday morning. Varkala Police said Maveli Express may have knocked him down. He leaves behind his wife Omana and five children.


After two hours, Mohanan Nair (57) was found dead on the railway track. Parasuram Express proceeding to Kollam may have knocked him down. He is engaged in sand business. He is survived by his wife Anitha and two children. The bodies of the two have been shifted to the Varkala taluk hospital. The police have started an investigation.
