I’ll not quit the post, says P C George

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The stand of P C George is not to quit the Chief Whip post if not permitted to revive the old secular party. Let any allied party of the UDF demand my ouster for my fight against corruption. The fight against corruption will continue, he told Kerala Kaumudi Flash.

George said, “The UDF should ask me to quit the post. K M Mani has no right to seek my ouster. The Kerala Congress had demanded two ministerial berths and a deputy speaker post. The UDF offered me he chief whip post and so how can Mani demand my ouster. I’m part of the UDF. I will vote for the UDF candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections."

The parliamentary party meet was convened secretly. As per the constitution of the party, convening the parliamentary party meet was not right. Kerala Congress is the confederation of the Mani and Joseph groups and the secular wing. When the party meet was convened on March 21st, no talks were held on my expulsion. The secret meet with the MLAs were held on March 24. Let Mani convene the party committee and directly ask me to quit, he said.
