Doctor held on sexual assault charge in T’puram

Wednesday, March 21, 2012: Rajendran, doctor of a private hospital in Kazhakoottam was arrested by the police today for alleged sexual assault of a female staff nurse here on Tuesday.
According to the police the doctor tried to misbehave with the staff nurse inside the operation theatre, when she tried to resist she was brutally beaten up by the doctor. The woman, who was found in an unconscious state, was rushed to the Medical college hospital by the staff.
Soon after the incident, the accused was absconding and was apprehended by a police team headed by Kazhakoottam Circle inspector Binukumar and Sub Inspector Rajesh from Attingal.
The accused was later presented before the Court and was remanded to custody.
