Thursday, March 29, 2012: The CBI special Court here has on Thursday found the seven accused guilty in a case relating to the gruesome murder of Abdul Jabbar, a Youth Congress leader near Kasaragod in November 2009.
Sudhakaran Master, Perla area secretary of CPM, has also been found guilty of the murder. The Court also acquitted five other persons, who were earlier named as accused in the case.
The CBI investigation had revealed that the team of assassins that had been hired for the purpose had been told to cut off Jabbar’s limbs, but because of severe bleeding caused in the attack, Jabbar had breathed his last.
A five-member gang had intercepted Jabbar’s car near Ukkinadka on November 3, 2009, and after dragging him out of his car, the gang members had indiscriminately hit him with sharp weapons, leaving him bleeding profusely.
