Tvm: Five-day annual ‘Kurisumala’ pilgrimage concludes


Monday, March 26, 2012: The five-day annual Kurisumala pilgrimage to the hilltop shrine at Vellarada, which began on March 21, has concluded on Sunday.
This year’s theme of the pilgrimage was ‘Cross is symbolic of the devotion of the soul’. Kurisumala, a hillock near Vellarada with its scenic beauty, the ‘last supper’ painting on the rock, the memorial hall of St John Baptist and the holy cross at Neruka attracts thousands of believers.
The pilgrim centre situated 3000 feet above sea level at Vellarada attracts thousands of devotees from Thiruvananthapuram and Tamil Nadu every year.
