Hartal gets underway in Palakkad

Wednesday, March 28, 2012; The dawn-to-dusk hartal called by the Medical College Action Committee demanding a new Medical College in the district began peacefully here today.
People from all walks of the life expressed their solidarity with the ongoing agitation by the Medical College Action Committee to find an early solution to the issue.
But the leading political parties in the district said that they have no relation inconnection with the hartal.
Since the agitation was peaceful, no untoward incidents were reported from any part of the district, sources said.
