Kashmir recruitment case accused presented before Court


Saturday, March 31, 2012: Sainuddin, an accused in the Kashmir terrorist recruitment case, was produced before the Malappuram first class judicial magistrate Court on Saturday in connection with another case amidst tight security.
Sainuddin was produced before the Court in connection with the seizure of a pipe bomb near Vengara in 1995. Sainuddin is a key operative of the suspected terrorist network having links with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). According to the NIA chargesheet, Sainuddin played a key role in recruiting youth in the state for arms training from the LeT in Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had chargesheeted as many as 24 accused in the Kashmir recruitment case on charges of waging a war against the nation. The accused include Wali alias Abu Rehan, a Pakistani national, and T. Nazeer, Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) operative.
Five youths from the State had been sent to Jammu and Kashmir for training for jihad by the LeT. Four of them were killed in an encounter with the Indian security forces on the border.
