Child death at Welfare Centre: SHRC takes up suo moto case

 Friday, March 30, 2012: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance of an incident in Thiruvananthapuram district where a one and a half year old girl child died at the State Child Welfare Committee due to negligence on the part of the authorities.
The child, Ananya, died after she fell into a bucket filled with water. The incident happened around 12.30 pm.
