YL takes out march to Kunhalikutty’s house

MALAPPURAM: Youth League workers from Angadipuram took a protest march to the residence of PK Kunhalikkutty demanding an immediate solution to the fifth minister issue of the Indian Union Muslim League(IUML). The march was organised by the Angadipuram panchayat Youth League Committee.
The protest was held under the leadership of Angadipuram Panchayath Youth League President Shabeer. They are planning to strengthen their agitation if the IUML leadership fails to get the ministerial post sanctioned in the coming UDF meeting.
“We are planning to block the IUML ministers on road if the fifth minister post is not given to the IUML in the coming UDF meeting on Wednesday. Manhalamkuzhi Ali and other leaders are not keen to take up the issue, that is why we have to organise such protests,” Shabeer said.
The protesters did not demand the fifth minister post for Manhalamkuzhi Ali. They are happy if any of the MLAs in the party are elevated to the minister post. “We tried to communicate with the party leaders, but none of them are available. Some of the leaders informed that we will have to wait till the Neyyattinkara by-election is over. We cannot tolerate the frivolous attitude of the party leadership regarding the issue,” Shabeer said.
However, the district leadership is shocked by the open protest of the Youth League members. They are going to take disciplinary action against the members who took part in the protest. “We cannot tolerate such agitation in the party.
They have to express their opinions and protests within the party, not in public,” Youth League Malappuram district president Naushad Manissery said.
The protesters said they have the support of ordinary party workers. All of them are agitated by the infamy caused by the fifth minister imbroglio. There will be more agitations in different parts of the district if the party will not get the minister post in the UDF meeting on March 28, the protesters added.
