CPM, CPI activists clash in Idukki, two hacked
Monday, March 26, 2012: A tense situation is prevailing in Chinnakanal area after a violent clash broke out between the activists of the CPI and CPM here on Monday. Two persons were hacked during the clashes.
The injured have been identified as Veluchamy- CPI local secretary and CPM local secretary Alby, police told. According to the police, the clash occurred after a group of DYFI activists staged a road blockade in Chinnakanal and raised various allegations against the CPI leaders.
The CPI activists retaliated by organizing protests in Chinnakanal. A huge battalion of police is camping in the area to avoid any other untoward incidents.
