Woman dies of self-immolation in Kasargod

Saturday, March 31, 2012: A 28-year-old woman was found dead after she allegedly set herself on fire at her residence near Trikaripur here on Saturday morning.
Police identified the deceased as Shanmukhathai, hailing from Tirunalveli. According to sources the woman set herself on fire when her husband Kanakaraj and her two children had gone out for drinking tea at a nearby shop.
The neighbours who noticed the smoke emanating from house, immediately informed the matter to the fire station. Even though the fire force personnel reached the spot, doused the flames and shifted her to the hospital she was declared dead on arrival.
