CM warns firm action against quotations gangs
Friday, March 30, 2012: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today informed that the state government would take stern action against criminals and quotation gangs.
Addressing the mediapersons here on Friday, Chandy added that the police had failed miserably since they had taken nearly two hours to reach the spot where Muslim Youth League activist Abdul Shukkur (23) was murdered after a “trial” in public in Kannur on February 20.
The murder occurred in the outbreak of tension at Ariyil that day after CPI(M) leaders including Jayarajan and T.V. Rajesh were assaulted by alleged IUML workers in the morning.
The murder case has brought a black mark to the whole police force, CM said. Chandy further stated that some terrorist organizations have made Kerala their base camps. The criminals indulging in anti-social actions would be punished through Fast track system, he told.
