Pension age: Yuva Morcha march turns violent

Saturday, March 31, 2012: The march taken out by the Yuva Morcha activists to Secretariat against the state government’s move to raise the pension age to 56 years, turned violent here on Saturday
A scuffle broke out between the activists and the police when the activists tried to make a forced entry into the secretariat campus. The whole area resembled a battlefield with the marchers fleeing from the police and throwing stones at the police.
The police then resorted to lathicharge and used water cannons to disperse the agitated mob.
