Police to record statement of Haridath’s wife

KOCHI: The investigation team led by Aluva DySP P R Salim will record the statement of Nisha, the wife of deceased CBI Additional Superintendent of Police Haridath, within the next three days.
The police consider her statement as crucial in the investigation of the case.
“It will be only after taking the statement of Nisha that we would decide whether to proceed with the case or not. We have recorded the statements of many people, including the relatives and friends of Haridath. They had said that Haridath was under severe work pressure. As the next step, we will record the statement of his wife in the next three days. Most probably, we will record the statement on Friday,” highly placed sources said.  “It will be only after recording Nisha’s statement that we will quiz the officials whose names have been mentioned in Haridath’s suicide note,” Salim said.
Meanwhile, the police have confirmed that the suicide note was written by Haridath himself.
The note was sent to the forensic lab for ascertaining the handwriting.
After examination, it was confirmed that the suicide note was written by Haridath himself.
The call details of Haridath’s phone have been taken and the police are examining all the numbers.
As one of the persons mentioned in the suicide note is in the rank of a District Judge, permission from the High Court Registrar is needed to question him, a police official said.
