CPM-BJP clash at Peringome

CHERUPUZHA: BJP and CPM workers clashed within the Peringome police station limit on Sunday. Peringome CPM area committee office was set on fire. The incident happened at around 12 in the night. 

The fire was first spotted by the policemen who were on night petrol. The fire force personnel were immediately informed and their quick response avoided much damage. Only the door and few articles inside were damaged.      
Nearby CPM flag posts were also damaged. Though the CPM has blamed the BPJ men for the incident, the police have started investigation.

Around the same time of the above incident, an auto rickshaw of a BJP activist was also set afire. The vehicle belonged to booth president P Thampan. The auto was parked in front of his house and it got completely gutted. Two CPM activists have been arrested in connection with the incident.
