Solar: I’ve seen CM along with Saritha, says Nair

KOCHI: Mallelil Sreedharan Nair, the complainant in the solar fraud case told the judicial commission probing it that he had seen Chief Minister Oommen Chandy along with Saritha S Nair, the main accused in the case, on July 9 in 2012.

Nair said, “Saritha introduced herself as Lakshmi Nair. Tenny Joppan was standing outside the chief minister’s office in the secretariat. V D Selvaraj MLA then came out from the chief minister’s room. After that, I along with Saritha and Joppan got inside. Saritha spoke to the chief minister as if she is no stranger to the chief minister.  The chief minister promised all help for the installation of the solar plant. The chief minister said a solution to power crisis can be found only if people like you come forward with such projects. He also assured subsidy for the project. An amount of Rs 2 lakhs of team solar was handed over to the chief minister’s relief fund by Tenny Joppan. The chief minister directed Joppan to keep safely Nair’s plea. After the meeting, they all came downstairs together.”

Nair had cited all this at the Pathanamthitta Judicial Magistrate Court. He also gave a secret statement before the Chengannur DySP, an official from the team probing the case.
