WAYANAD: A six-member team including two women attacked a KTDC hotel at Thirunelli in the district. The reception counter and restaurant of Tamarind Hotel, was vandalized by the gang. The hotel attacked allegedly by Maoists early Sunday morning at 2 am damaged the computers and furniture of the office and left posters protesting against Obama’s India visit.
The Maoists did not harm any of the inmates of the hotel. Police reached the spot and conducted an inspection. The posters expressed concern over growth of tourism in the district at the cost of farmers and tribals.
