KOCHI: In the fire that broke out at shops near Ernakulam North Railway station on Thursday, five shops selling old items were gutted. The fire incident happened early morning around 2 O’ clock.
The shops were the ones that had stocks of used iron, plastic and other materials thrown out after use. However, no casualty was reported.
Fire force personal from Gandhi Nagar, Thrikkakara and Club Road, who had reached the spot, toiled for about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control. The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
