Tense situation at Alappuzha Medical College

ALAPPUZHA: The death of a patient in Alappuzha medical college hospital created tense moments after the relatives of the patient entered into a heated argument with the hospital staff. They alleged the patient died after medical attention for him was delayed.

Later the police had to be called in to calm down the situation.

The dead has been identified as a native of Punnapra.

The relatives alleged that the patient was made to wait in front of the ICU for long hours without medical attention, resulting in his death.

But, the doctor said he had informed the relatives about the serious condition of the patient after he was brought to the hospital.
