THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has demanded the government not to deny financial aid to the PSC. “The government’s move to do away with the funding to the PSC will stall its activities. The future of thousands of job-aspirants will be doomed,” he said in a press statement on Monday.
The Finance department that shows inordinate interest to examine the accounts of the PSC also owes the responsibility to resolve their financial problems. The government is more interested in giving promotion to officials in the finance department, flouting norms rather than providing the required help to the PSC. Now what the government is trying to do is to destroy the PSC for coming out against irregular promotions, “he alleged.
The Opposition leader also asked Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to interfere in the issue in order to provide financial help to the PSC.
