MUNNAR: If no solution is found at the talks to be held tomorrow on the plantation workers strike in Munnar, then widespread protests would be staged across the state, said CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
Talking to reporters after visiting the protestors, he said the party supports the strike in Munnar. He also visited Devikulam MLA S Rajendran staging a hunger strike.
The CPM is ready to give their lives to achieve the demands of the workers. The workers are not alone in the strike. If a decision is not taken at the talks held tomorrow, then the party will take over the strike and protests would be staged all over the state, he said.
Meantime, the workers did not allow women leaders who accompanied Kodiyeri to the strike venue. Central committee members P K Sreemathi, M C Josephine accompanied Kodiyeri. The workers did not even allow the workers to talk first but later permitted them to talk.
