Light Metro Project gets administrative sanction

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet on Wednesday decided to grant administrative sanction to Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode Light Metro Projects. Briefing reporters after the weekly cabinet meet, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said they have also decided to hand over the project to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

The government will produce the new plan with all the details sought by the centre.  An agreement was taken regarding the new plan at the meet held between Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and E Sreedharan, main advisor of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The government decided to send the plan again due to lack of clarity in the previous plan.

A decision has been taken to accept the steps and methods taken to implement Kochi Metro Project for the Light Metros also. The letter including all details will be given to the centre. Necessary changes will be made in the letter given first. An opinion was taken to complete the project in time.
