THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said on Wednesday that Consumerfed president's post is an elected one and the government had no right to remove the president as in the case of its managing director.
The chief minister was responding to the questions on KPCC president V M Sudheeran's letter demanding removal of its president Joy Thomas.
When media persons asked about the criticism that new MD Ratnakumar is a cousin of former MD Riji G Nair, who was removed following corruption allegation against him, Chandy said he was least bothered about officials’ relations.
"The cabinet has discussed the crisis in Consumerfed and it has been decided to sanction Rs 100 crore to resolve the crisis. Action will be taken on complaints of corruption. Former MD Tomin Thachankary has not given me any report in this regard," the chief minister added.
