KOZHIKODE: Labour Minister Shibu Baby John has come out with sharp criticism against Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan. "VS should not have the feeling that he can say anything since he is the Opposition leader. He has a position in politics but he should not see it as an opportunity to say anything about anyone," said John, who was responding to the Achuthanandan's statement that the minister should fulfill his responsibility.
The minister further said, "The labourers will decide whether I should continue as minister or not. If there are not interested in me, there is no point in me clinging to the minister's chair."
Shibu also added that if it is decided to give the labourers Rs 500 increment just for 'applause', it would paralyse the tea plantation sector.
