KOCHI: There is no change in the serious health condition of actor-director Sidharth Bharthan, who is undergoing treatment at Ernakulam Medical Trust Hospital. Doctors in the hospital said that anything definite about his health condition could be said only after 24 hours as the internal bleeding in his brain has not stopped and he continues to be on ventilator.
“He is being administered medicines to remove clots in the brain. We shall decide on further treatment according to the body’s response to the medicines. The absence of new bleeding spots in the new CT scan is a positive sign,” the doctor said.
Neurosurgen Dr Sudheesh Karunakaran is overseeing the treatment. The actor’s car rammed a roadside wall near Thykoodam Kappela early morning on Saturday as he was driving from Ernakulam to Tripunithura. He was returning home after attending a private function in Ernakulam.
In the accident , his head and a leg were severaly damaged. Mother KPAC Lalitha, sister and other close relatives are in the hospital.
Preparations are also being made to conduct an immediate operation if bleeding in the brain occurs again. Treatment is being given to prevent blood clots and related complications. Many including film personalities visited him in the hospital on Sunday.
Siddharth has met with the accident at a time when the work related to his next film project is progressing.
