THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM politburo member M A Baby said that in the wake of the strengthening of communal fascists in the country, the left front should continue their fight arraying religious believers.
Inaugurating the symposium on the cultural unity against communalism in CPM’s fourth international congress on Kerala Studies, he said the statement of Pope that it is not necessary to go to church to be a good person, gives us hope. Other religious leaders should stand united in the fight for the welfare of the society. One should not think that communalism has ended after the defeat in Bihar, fight against it should continue.
If the left government assumes power in Kerala then should implement class room library and reading revolution to create awareness against communalism. If a student is given an extra free book in addition to the textbook, 2.70 lakh class room libraries can be made, he said.
N S Madhavan who spoke said it is only an exaggeration that fascism has emerged in the country. The country has an administration which will fall down in an election. There has never been in the history defeating a fascist regime. It is the responsibility of democracy to be more cautious that fascism does not emerge. No one should be exempted in the fight for it, he said.
