THRISSUR: Respective governments assuming power after the elections decide about the liquor policy, said CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vinayan. Talking to the media as part of his Nava Kerala Yatra, he said the policy of the party is not a ban on liquor but teetotalism.
The stand of liquor ban will not be there in LDF’s election manifesto. Instead teetotalism will be there. CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had also stated the other day that if they come to power a new liquor policy would be introduced.
In order to continue in power, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy intervened and withdrew K Babu’s resignation. The chief minister can continue only if Babu is brought in and he planned the tactics for it.
Chandy has lost his eligibility to continue in power. If he fails to resign, then strong agitations would be staged in and out of the assembly. The congress high command has also taken a favourable stand in the corruption. KPCC chief V M Sudhderan is also part of the corruption. He made a statement that the vigilance court has not made a statement against Babu. The congress is trying to save the chief minister for two months. Criticisms are showered on the judge who ordered a probe against the chief minister. They are trying to threaten the court and bring them under their control, he alleged.
