THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram vigilance court will pronounce the verdict on opposition leader V S Achuthanandan’s plea seeking a probe on the irregularities in the microfinance project under the SNDP Yogam, on January 20. The vigilance submitted in the court a secret report on the irregularities worth 80 lakhs under the cover of the project. District officials of backward development corporation have a role in it, the vigilance said.
VS plea has demanded to register a case against SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan, president Dr M N Soman, finance co-ordinator K M Maheshan, backward development corporation former managing director N Najeeb after making them accused in the case.
VS had alleged that those including Vellappally had conducted a fraud of Rs 15 crore during 2003 and 2015. The vigilance had earlier informed the court that though a departmental action was recommended against corporation’s former MD N Najeeb, it could not be implemented as he had retired from service.
