KOCHI: Moovattupuzha Vigilance Court has rejected the petition against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Excise Minister T P Ramakrishnan regarding the awarding of bar licence to a private hotel.
The court has clarified that it won’t be able to interfere in the petition. The petition was filed by Kodanadu native P A Joseph, questioning the granting of licence to Peurmbavoor Kodanadu Dewland hotel.
The petitioner had sought the filing of case against eight persons including the Excise Minister and the chief minister.
The petition was filed, pointing out that the issuing of licence to the hotel, when high court stay prevailed in this matter, would come under the purview of Prevention of Corruption Act.
The case related to the granting of five star bar licence to the hotel. The hotelier had approached the government for bar licence as the hotel already had five star status. The Panchayat had also given No Objection Certificate for issuing the bar licence.
