THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government will take strict action if reporters are banned in courts of the state, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Banning reporters in court cannot be justified at all, he said this in reply to the submission voiced by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala.
All have the right to work and action would be taken if it is disrupted. The step taken that solving the issue is not applicable to a group of people cannot be accepted. Strict action would be taken against them who take such stands. There is no justification in continuing the issues of the court, he said.
The reporters are not able to report the court proceedings and the false cases registered against the media over the incidents witnessed in the Vanchiyoor court should be withdrawn, said Chennithala. Instead of registering case against the guilty, case was taken against the victims by the police. However, a probe is on in the case and once it is completed will make clear the stand in withdrawing the case, the chief minister replied.
