THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tanker lorry strike at Indian Oil Corporation’s Irumbanam and Kozhikode plant was withdrawn late evening on Tuesday. The strike was called off after Minister A K Saseendran hold discussions with truck drivers and owners, assuring them to correct the flaws in the contract.
The minister said it had been decided in the meeting to suspend all Tendering procedures till December 3. The meeting was attended by management representatives and workers’ co-ordination committee representatives.
“The employees’ demands will be met before December 3. They have also been told not to strike without informing the government,” the minister said.
The strike committee also decided to ply tanker lorries as usual from tomorrow morning.
