Thiruvananthapuram: With North East Monsoon reaching Tamil Nadu, several parts of Kerala received heavy rains on Sunday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains at isolated places in the state till November 2. The state may witness 7 to 11 cms of rain in many places.
The IMD has officially confirmed the arrival of Northeast monsoon at Tamil Nadu and Andhra coast on Sunday. The official announcement of the arrival of Northeast monsoon in Kerala will be made on Monday.
Though it is expected that the Northeastmonsoon will be normal, there are indications that it will be less in Kerala.
While the country received normal Southwest monsoon, Kerala witnessed a shortfall of 34 per cent.
