Chandy, George playing hide-and-seek game: Isaac

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:   Former Finance Minister and CPM leader T M Thomas Isaac has alleged that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and government chief whip P C George are playing a hide-and-seek game with regard to latter’s controversial letter to the President and other key constitutional functionaries commenting on the functioning about the Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court judge.Isaac alleged that both Chandy and George were trying to put the judge dealing with the palmolein case, under pressure.

Addressing mediapersons here on Monday,  Isaac demanded that the Chief Minister remove George from the post of government chief whip.  Or else it can easily be suspected that  both of them were hand-in-glove in their attempt to weaken the court.  Isaac also pointed out that apart from the letter drama of George,  a new post of Additional Director-General of  Prosecutions had been created.  He alleged that these steps were to keep various Vigilance cases including the palmolein deal involving Oommen Chandy under check  and try to outwit any problems which may crop up in future.  “There need not be any suspicion on the motive behind it.  It is to torpedo the palmoelin case probe,” he said. Isaac ridiculed that the balance sheet of the UDF Government was that the Chief Minister had to take the opinion of leaders of coalition parties whether he should continue as the Chief Minister or not. “No other government which ruled the state had such a record of the Chief Minister himself seeking the opinion of the coalition partners on whether to continue in the post of Chief Minister when he complete just 100 days in office,” he said.
