Govt earmarks Rs 157.96 cr for corporation road repairs

Wednesday, September 14, 2011: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today informed that the state government had earmarked Rs 157.96 crore for the maintenance works of damaged roads in five corporations.
Speaking to the mediapersons after the cabinet meeting held here on Wednesday, Chandy added that from this amount Rs 83.54 crore has been allotted for Kollam, Thrissur and Kozhikode corporations.
This is the first time that the PWD is undertaking the maintenance work of the damaged roads in the corporation limits with special terms and conditions. The maintenance work will be completed on ‘war footing’, CM said.
