Kochi Metro Project gets Planning Commission’s nod

Thursday, September 15, 2011: The Planning Commission has approved the Kochi Metro Project. Planning commission vice president Montek Singh Aluwalia said that there is no objection to the project.
He said that the issue of financial liabilities to be incurred by the project has been sent to the financial study section comprising representatives of various ministries to study about the project.
After the financial study, a decision would be taken on the model to be implemented. A final decision would be taken after Chief minister Oommen Chandy visits Delhi next week.
