Mumbai airport on high alert, security beefed up

Tuesday, September 13, 2011: The security at the Mumbai airport has been tightened in view of an alert sent by central agencies. Security at the Chhatrapati Shivaji airport has been put on high alert after an alert was sent by central agencies of a possible threat from an aircraft.
Unwilling to take any chance, the Mumbai Police has beefed up the security at the airport following last week’s bomb blast outside the Delhi High Court.
All precautionary measures are being taken in view of the threat perception ahead of the third anniversary of September 13, 2008 blasts that claimed over 20 lives.
