Palmolein case: PC George sticks to earlier stance

Wednesday, September 14, 2011: Government Chief Whip P.C George today reiterated that he will go ahead with his petition against the Vigilance Court Judge, who directed further inquiry into the role of Chief Minister in the palmolein case.

Speaking to the reporters at a press meet held here on Wednesday, George added any citizen of India has the right to send a petition to the President. ”The judge did not follow the usual procedures in the case while issuing further inquiry into the case,” he alleged.
Denying the allegations by CPM leaders, he said I send the letter to the President as a citizen of India and not as his official post of Chief Whip.
George also demanded an inquiry into the role of CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, opposition leader V S Achuthanandan and former finance minister Dr Thomas Isaac in the palmolein case.
