Temple security: State rules out need for Central force

Thursday, September 15, 2011: The state government on Thursday informed the Apex Court that there was no need to deploy central force at Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple for tightening the security after treasure worth Rs one lakh was recovered from the temple vaults during the inventory process.
Government pointed out that the state police was sufficient enough to safe guard the temple riches. A five-tier security system was required for the temple and would be implemented soon.
The seven-member expert committee appointed by the Supreme Court for taking an inventory of the temple treasure had instructed for deploying a CRPF team for the beefing up the security.
