Four killed in capital city


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Four persons were killed and three seriously injured in six separate accidents which happened in the capital city last night and this morning.  The accidents occurred in Balan Nagar, Station Kadavu, Vazhayila, Navaikkulam, Attingal and Thamalam.

The last incident happened in Balan Nagar near All Saints College at 9 am Wednesday morning. A cyclist identified as Sunderasan (58) was killed when he was run over by a private bus. He leaves behind his children Sangeetha, Saji and Binu.

An official of IBS software company in Technopark was killed when he was struck by a tipper lorry at Station Kadavu near Technopark at 9 pm last night. He was identified as Jain G Varghese (28). The incident happened while he was coming back after work. Though he was taken to the KIMS Hospital, his life could not be saved. He was the son of KSG Varghese and Ponnamma Varghese and Aiyn G Varghese is his brother.

A 35 year old youth identified as Ajith Kumar of Vithura was killed after his bike collided with a tanker lorry at Karakulam. He leaves behind his parents Vijayan and Thulasi, wife Athulya and brother Anil Kumar.

A pedestrian identified as Manikuttan alias Raju (55) was killed after a bike fatally knocked him down at 6 pm last evening. The motorist Aneesh too sustained injuries. Raju is survived by his wife Vasundra.

Ratheesh (25) and Aneesh (19) suffered injuries after their bikes lost control in Attingal and Thamalam.
