Students invited for IIT fete



KOCHI: Young techies at IIT Kharagpur have invited students from Kerala’s college campuses to join them in the diamond jubilee year celebrations of the prestigious higher educational institution. Spring Fest, the annual social and cultural fest of IIT Kharagpur, will be held from January 20 to 23. Student organisers of the event said the Spring Fest has always been ‘the true spirit of youth’ and encompasses aspirations and enthusiasm of college students across the nation. “With a plethora of more than 50 events ranging from varied genres, it provides a platform to the students where they can prove their mettle and calibre. “The highlight of this year’s fest is ‘IIT Kharagpur Model United Nations conference’, which is Spring Fest’s diamond jubilee initiative in association with ‘Debating society, IIT Kharagpur,” they said.

It is the first Model United Nations Conference of IIT Kharagpur in collaboration with United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan. The conference will comprise two councils - DISEC and G20. Apart from the innovative councils, the confluence of three formidable brands-- Model United Nations, IIT Kharagpur and Spring Fest— promises to make this a very memorable experience, students said. Youngsters pointed out that Nukkad, a street play competition will be held in Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh as part of the celebrations.
