ALAPPUZHA: CPM State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has said that ordering judicial inquiry into the solar scam was a fruitful result of the agitations carried out by the CPM. “ The ‘rapakal’ (day night) strike was properly handled by the party and if the party had continued agitation, it would not have achieved anything more,” said Pinarayi, who was speaking during the Alappuzha District Conference of the party.
It was the Congress and the BJP which mocked at the agitation, calling it an “adjustment strike”. The party should also look into the low participation from the Alappuzha district in the solar strike.
Meanwhile, Pinarayi referred to the factionalism within the party. “What has happened in the party should not have happened. If this continues, it will not do good... The controversy over Krishna Pillai memorial incident will be examined later,” he said, adding, the CPM had never tried to glorify Finance Minister K M Mani.
