50 nurses expelled from Lakeshore hospital

Tuesday, January 31, 2012: The management of Kochi Lakeshore Hospital has expelled 50 of the 700 striking nurses and proceeded to go against them with court cases.
Nurses of Lakeshore Hospital and Kothamangalam medical mission hospital have been on strike demanding better wages.
The nurses who have been paid a measly sum as monthly salary have been on an agitation in several hospitals in Kerala and outside. The managements have all along been taking advantage of the nurses by denying minimum wages.
