THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The controversy in connection with the leaking of e-mails of journalists and Muslim leaders is to create communal riots in the state, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. Briefing reporters after the weekly cabinet briefing, he said the manner in which the medias carried the news is unfortunate.
It is the duty of the government to safeguard the safety of the country and the public. The report that e-mails of Muslims and journalists were hacked had appeared in a section of the media. The police investigated the details obtained from a person observed by us. It was just an ordinary procedure, Chandy said. Nobody’s e-mails have been leaked.
The police had received 268 e-mail ids from a person who is under investigation. Hence a letter had been sent to the hi-tech cell of police headquarters to find out the details as it was difficult to find out the identity or the address of a person from the id. The letter was sent in order to find the sender as there was no information about the person.
