Kerala Budget before March 16, says Mani

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Budget for 2012-13 fiscal will be presented before the Union Budget which is likely to be presented on March 16, Finance Minister KM Mani said today.


Addressing a press conference here, Mani said the Union Budget is likely to be presented on March 16. But, the state budget will be presented before that as it needs sufficient time to fulfill the constitutional obligation.


However, the exact date for the presentation of the budget will be decided by the cabinet, he added. After a three-day discussion, other formalities including Vote on Account would be completed before March 31, he said.
